The TexTool is a multi-textile tool that implements various textile production methods. The inspiration was a Swiss Army knife, but for traditional textile techniques. I wanted to create something that is a memento to our roots and culture as humans. All cultures in the world have some kind of textile production—we all dress in clothes or are using textiles in some form. Understanding where these come from, and having a tool that empowers people to use these techniques to fix or produce small pieces of textiles, intrigued me and was also part of the design brief.
